PRESS: Govt may discount coal shipment by rail to north-west ports
MOSCOW, Sep 8 (PRIME) -- The government is considering returning a discount on railway transportation of coal to the northwestern ports, which industry sources say is unprofitable without it, business daily Kommersant reported on Thursday, citing sources.
The ports focused on exports to Europe have remained idle after the E.U. refused to buy Russian coal, although they send some cargo to Asia. The eastern ports that send cargoes to Asia are underloaded due to railway capacity limits.
